The masking fluid comes off easily (e.g., with a palette knife), revealing the masked area. The Masquepen masking fluid pen consists of a 30 ml polyethylene container of light blue masking fluid, a sharp 0.8 mm nylon tip, and a built-in cleaning pin. The shelf life of the masking fluid is approximately 12 months, after which you can replace the container with a new one.

Convenient refill packs are also available. The masking fluid pen features a non-clogging cap mechanism: a metal wire in the cap prevents the bottle's nozzle from clogging – the fluid doesn't dry out, and no waste is generated.
