Ink 14ml Nan King LB - Black

Lefranc & Bourgeois inks are made from water-soluble dyes combined with shellac to bind the product together. This gives the ink its water-resistant nature and a glossy finish if applied thickly. The color is ready to use directly from the bottle but can be diluted with water to make it more translucent. Distilled water must be used to dilute the ink to prevent the dye from separating from the binder. All colors are intermixable.

Drawing inks are not archival quality and belong to lightfastness class C. They should not be used in works intended for display in illuminated areas. Exceptions are black and white, as well as gold and silver. Dip pens and brushes are recommended for applying the inks. They should be cleaned during use. If the inks dry, denatured alcohol and warm soapy water can be used to dissolve the color. Because shellac is used as a binder, Drawing Inks are not suitable for use in fountain pens.
