The weekly planner is inspired by historical bookbindings from a time when books were precious objects. The Poetry in Bloom design is based on a 1910 binding of Percy Bysshe Shelley's poetic work, The Sensitive Plant and Early Poems. The central poem describes the changing seasons of a garden and the transience of life.
The design replicates the decoration of the book's endpapers, where flowers, leaves, and butterflies are artfully rendered using leather and gold tooling. The original work belonged to W.A. Spencer's collection, which was later donated to the New York Public Library.
