Moomin 80th Anniversary Collections The Great Flood and Small Adventures .

Come join us in celebrating 80 years of Moomins! 2025 marks 80 years since the first Moomin story , The Moomins and the Great Flood , was published in 1945. Written by Tove Jansson during World War II, the story comforted her during her darkest times, and it reflects the reality of millions of people who were displaced.

Moomin House is a symbol of safety, protection and togetherness – a place where everyone is welcome, whenever they arrive. These are universal and timeless needs. They are as true today as they were 80 years ago.

We at Puting also want to be part of celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Moomin stories and raising the important theme of the anniversary year. Puting's first 80th anniversary collection is based on the beautiful cover of the book Moomin and the Great Flood .

The second 80th anniversary collection, Small Adventures, is a tribute to the first Moomin materials. The images and texts are based on Tove Jansson's first comic strip, Jorden går under!, and a later version of the same story, Moomin and the Comet.
