Derwent Inktense pencils are intensely coloured and translucent ink pencils. These versatile coloured pencils are ideal for watercolour work, stamping and manga drawing. The colours can be used like normal coloured pencils, but if the drawing is brushed with a water-dampened brush, the surface becomes watercolour-like. Once dry, this watercolour-like surface becomes water-resistant. Because the wetted colour layer dries waterproof, these pencils are ideal for layered watercolour work. Due to the water-resistance of the colours, Inktense colours can also be used on various porous surfaces; ceramics, wood and fabric. Inktense is hand-washable on fabric in water below 30 degrees (washing without harsh detergents). The pencils are packed in a high-quality metal tin, making them easy to store.
