Liquitex Basics Matte Gel is the perfect companion for acrylic painting and is suitable for use with all Liquitex products! Matte Gel reduces the gloss of the paint, thickens the paint, and increases its translucency and flow. The product is glossy when wet and has a matte finish when dry. It also extends the drying time of the paint. Mix the paint with Liquitex Gloss Gel for a satin finish. Matte Gel can also be thinned with water if needed. However, we recommend using the product sparingly, otherwise the result may be too hazy. The product is easy to use: simply mix the desired amount directly into the paint.
